Cyclingfans.com chose this dynamic photographer to shoot the 2009 Tour of California. With just two words, Lance Armstrong, the race was thrust onto the world stage as Lance rode out of retirement and back into the professional peloton.
Highlights from the 11-day, 1600 mile adventure, included interviewing Cervelo Master Tech Alejandro Torralbo (de Cordaba,Spain) while he prepped Carlos Sastre's TT machine (08 Tour de France Champion).
Before Lance announced his return, the highlight of this year's race was thought to be capturing the Peloton as they raced across the Golden Gate Bridge on their way to Santa Cruz. Two and a half hours waiting in the rain for a split second shot - priceless! Stage 3 - the peloton gliding down from Patterson Pass -windmills and oak trees dotting the lush-green hills.

On June 21, 2009, Lance takes his first victory - stunning the fans and other racers at the Nevada City Classic bike race.
Laura is the owner and principal forester - Urban Forest Consulting. In addition to forestry, Laura lives to harass trout and watch live race feeds from Europe.
